Welding Caps
Six panels, low crown, and a bill that flips back out of the way when the hood comes down. That's a welding cap built the way welders actually want one — not a novelty hat with a bill on it.
Every Rasco cap is 100% cotton, so it soaks up sweat instead of sitting on top of it, and it holds up to being washed hard and often. All of them are reversible: two patterns, one cap.
Sized 6 through 8. These are fitted caps, not one-size — measure before you order.
Why welders wear a cotton cap
Under a hood, a welding cap does three jobs: it keeps sweat out of your eyes, it puts a layer between your scalp and a hot helmet shell, and the bill can be spun to shield an ear or the back of your neck from spatter and sun. The six-panel, low-crown build is what makes that work — a taller crown pushes the hood forward and throws your sightline off.
Cotton is the traditional choice for a reason. It breathes, it absorbs, and it launders without falling apart. Ours are 100% cotton throughout, including the sweatband.
Getting the size right
Welding caps use hat sizing, not S/M/L. Run a soft tape around your head about a half inch above your ears and across your forehead, keep it level, and match the number to your size. If you land between sizes, go up — a cap that grips too tight gets uncomfortable fast under a hood.
Retro caps
The Retro caps are brand new, first quality, and identical in construction to everything else on this page. They're marked down because the pattern is being retired, not because anything is wrong with the cap. When a size sells out in a Retro pattern, it's gone — those runs aren't being made again.
The straight answer on FR
These caps are not flame resistant and are not certified to NFPA 2112. They're 100% untreated cotton — the traditional welding cap, worn under a hood or helmet, not a replacement for FR headwear. If your job requires flame-resistant head protection, look at our FR balaclava and FR winter liner instead.
