Heavier Fabric — standard FR shirts use 7–8 oz fabric. The welding bay demands more. Our FR Heavyweight Work Shirt uses 11.5 oz FR Flameshield® duck canvas with a 20 cal arc rating — the highest of any shirt in our line. Our 10 oz FR Cotton Duck Coverall and FR Denim Bib Overalls are built for the same reason: spatter doesn't stop at the rated exposure threshold, and heavier fabric buys time.
Full Coverage — a coverall or bib overall is the welder's garment. One piece, no gap between your shirt and pants where spatter finds skin.
