Both work exactly like they should — they just have a darkened finish instead of a bright one. On heavy green duck workwear, most guys would call that a head start on broken-in.
The pants themselves are classic Rasco: heavy 10 oz 100% FR cotton duck — the same rugged canvas serious workwear is built from — in a relaxed carpenter cut with real room to move.
